The young chef

This virus outbreak has given immense time for many people to do a lot of work. Though there have been struggles to come out of the house, it led to many people doing a lot of stuff by staying inside the house. That is how it led a person of age 18, to spend a lot of her time in baking new dishes. She had been baking since her school days but that was only in her leisure time. In this lockdown, she had lot of time to spend on her favourite hobby. She had not learned proper baking from any institutions, but with the help of youtube and online sources she tried to learn and made a lot of different recipes and she says “I thoroughly enjoyed this time, since I invested my time in my most favourite thing”. She said that she was willing to learn a proper baking course and so that it will help her to continue baking all her life. She is also planning to do a part time business in her future.

Initially, she started with baking cooking, brownies, macaroons etc. then she gave a try on doing cakes. That was also with cupcakes and small lava cakes etc. she says, “I love to see the end product, all the way I wait to see my baked product and it gives me immense pleasure”. After that, with little more effort, she tried to bake cakes, which is more like birthday cakes. The first two attempts were not so perfect. since she did not know how to make the cake, the first attempts were more like a failure. Then after her tiring efforts, she had learnt the techniques in making a perfect cake. Now she prepares birthday cakes for her family members on their birthdays and other special days. along with that she also made a cake for her neighbour who is a five-year-old kid and gifted it to her. She says “she finds peace and happiness by baking” and thus she continues doing it.

Not only to do their hobby but also, it gave her immense pleasure while doing this. This 18-year-old did not have proper learning in this area but, she started to prepare birthday cakes and distribute them to her relatives and neighbours. This would be a base for her part time job which she is planning to do in the future. Along with that, she is also trying to bring out some new recipes by trying and by adding innovative ideas in her own way. This was really a good start in this pandemic period.
