Vlogging as a passion and profession

Food vlogging had become a very popular day during the course of the last 4 to 5 years, people started to take up this as a profession, they use various platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc, In the context of Tamilnadu a Blogger named Irfan started his career in the year 2015, he became famous among the people through his social media platforms and achieved heights. He became an inspiration and role model for many youngers, in the course of around 2 years many food blogs, vlogs, food review YouTube channels were started in Tamilnadu, Chennai rates the highest number of food bloggers and bloggers compared to other places. In Vellore there are hardly only Three food vloggers, two members do this as a passion and one person does this as a profession.

I contacted a 20-year Medical College student Lingesh Karthik he is a vlogger from Vellore he started, he uses Instagram as a medium for his vlogging, a page named @vellore__foodie his blogging during the pandemic, his first vlog dates on the month of July 2020. When asked about his journey in vlogging his interest in food made him start the vlog, at first he used to cook the food by himself and started to post and used to write about the procedures of cooking during the complete lockdown, after the relaxation of lockdown he moved out to review the foods in Vellore. In around 6 months he reviewed around eighty eateries starting from tea stall to elite restaurants.

There are many criteria followed by the vloggers to review a particular restaurant, starting from the ambiance, service, and the more importance is given to food. From the way the food is served, its texture, taste, its way and percentage of cooking each and everything is taken into consideration. The vlogger follows a set of rules and grades every restaurant out of 5.


Most of the vloggers claim them to be a foodie, when asked about the idea of the vlog, he said that his love towards food made him to do that, and he used to find Special dishes from different places and taste it. The vlogger had a great knowledge of different cuisines and have a great experience in reviewing food.


When we talk about Vellore in particular he was able to divide the city into three main food hotspots, and gave a clear picture of what kind of food is available and the popular cuisines that are available in the city. And how the youngsters influence the introduction of different cuisines in the city which gave rise to many restaurants and eateries. The restaurant people call the reviewers to their restaurant to give a review about their restaurant which serves as an advertisement and publicity, this has become a trend in many popular cities.

Vlogging became very popular recently, many restaurants pay and provide food for the vloggers for their review which makes their restaurant a famous one. There are many food review YouTube channels, many people started to take this as a profession in recent times. Vlogging is more interesting and serves as an enjoyable profession, people do it as a profession and passion.
